The new Miss Powdersville Teen & Miss Powdersville Queens were crowned Dec.3,2011 along with the Miss Heart of Greenville Teen & Miss Heart of Greenville.

This year the new 2012 Queens are Miss Powdersville Hannah Failoni, Miss Powdersville Teen Cassidy Durham, Miss Heart of Greenville Verhonda Crawford and Miss Heart of Greenville Teen Rebecca Robinson.

Michelle Ward the local Executive Director of the Miss Powdersville & Miss Heart of Greenville Scholarship Pageant has been directing the Pageant for the past 3 years.

Mrs.Ward said she keeps these young ladies busy all year with appearances, community service hours &

speaking at many organizations about their platforms. The young ladies also participate in fundraising. She is getting them prepared to compete for the Miss South Carolina Teen & Miss South Carolina Pageant which will be held this year in Columbia SC beginning July 9, 2012

Each year at the Miss SC Pageant Ms. Ward said her queens have placed 1st Runner Up, Overall Evening Gown

winner,Talent winner, Top 15 and Top 10. “All their hard work pays off when we go to State,” Wards said. The Miss Powdersville & Miss Heart of Greenville Pageant is a Non profit Organization and these girls have to go out and get

support from their local communities, Ward said. “There is a lot of time involved in preparing for state,” she said.

The Miss South Carolina organization is all about Scholarship, Ward said. “All Miss Queens, when they win a local title they also receive a scholarship,” she said.
