WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Jeff Duncan today issued a statement on the National Labor Relations Board’s complaint against Boeing.

“I never thought I’d see the day when the federal government sued a business for creating jobs in South Carolina," Duncan said. "The NLRB’s unprecedented actions against Boeing are grossly out-of-touch with reality and make a mockery of the United States Constitution. This is exactly the kind of backwards policy that sends jobs overseas and puts Americans out of work.”

“Boeing made a decision to relocate in South Carolina to lower their labor costs and increase profitability, a concept that’s not surprisingly foreign to Washington bureaucrats.”

“South Carolina’s ‘Right to Work’ status helped encourage businesses from across the world to locate to the Palmetto State. Our state is committed to protecting its workers and creating a fair environment for businesses, not appeasing big union bosses. I’m confident the courts will throw out any complaints issued by the NLRB, and I plan on continuing to push for new legislation in Congress to protect South Carolina’s labor laws.”

”South Carolina currently has a 9.9% unemployment rate; the last thing we need right now is an overbearing federal government trampling over our state’s 10th Amendment liberties.”
