The Anderson Association of Educational Office Professionals Installation and Awards Banquet for Anderson School Districts One and Two and the Career and Technology Center was held on May 17in the Anderson School District Two boardroom.

Elected to the Executive Board for 2011-12: Stephanie Evans, President; Kathleen George, President Elect; Debra Owens, Vice-President; Lisa Johnson, Secretary; Laura Parnell, Treasure; and Connie Poole, Immediate Past President.

The theme for this year is, “Life is the Coffee.”

Mason Gary, principal of Palmetto High School from Anderson School District One, was named Administrator of the Year by the Anderson Association of Educational Office Professionals. Gary received this honor for his continued support of educational office professionals, his outstanding achievements in the education field, and through recommendations from his colleagues.

Gary has worked as principal at Palmetto High the past 13 years, and in Anderson One a total of 18 years. Before coming to District One, he worked in District Two as a teacher, coach and administrative assistant. Gary holds a Ph.D. from Clemson University.

Also, receiving awards were:

Lyn Ridlehoover, Secretary of Wren High was awarded the AAEOP Employee of the Year.

Jane Harrison, Director of Elementary Education was recognized for being awarded the SCAEOP Administrator of the Year.

Melissa McLane, completed the Professional Standards Program and received the distinction of Certified Educational office Employee.

Mary Katherine Cappell, a student of Wren High was awarded the AAEOP Student Scholarship.

Natasha Harrelson was recognized for designing the 2011 NAEOP logo design.
