DOVER, Delaware – New Jersey is one win away from punching its ticket to the Big League World Series in Easley. The team defeated Pennsylvania 7-1 in the finals of the winners’ bracket yesterday.

Now the team awaits the results of today’s game in the losers’ bracket between Pennsylvania and the host team, set for 6 p.m. tonight. The winner of that game will face New Jersey in the tournament finals beginning at 8:30 p.m.

If New Jersey loses, the final game of the U.S. East tournament will be played Friday.

The host team lost 7-0 to Pennsylvania in the first round of the tournament, but came back to post wins over the Delaware state champions (8-7), Massachusetts (7-6) and Rhode Island (13-1) to stay alive in the tournament.

New Jersey would be a repeat U.S. East champion, having won two of the past three tournaments. New Jersey is seeking better fortune this year, as the team is 1-7 in BLWS play for its last two appearances.
