POWDERSVILLE— The community has a chance to meet its newest teams and athletes Wednesday at a special “Meet the Patriots” event.

According to boosters, Powdersville High School will hold its first fundraising event August 17th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the school’s fantastic new stadium.

Barbecue or hotdog plates with chips and drink will be available for $5.00 beginning at 5:00pm in the cafeteria.

An inflatable bouncing castle, dunking booth, face painting, snow cones, popcorn, and cotton candy will be available to help support the school’s teams.

Highlight of the evening will be the introduction of all the fall athletes and coaches at 7:15pm.

Patriots merchandise will be available and lucky young children may be able to get their favorite Patriots autograph. Everyone is invited to come see our beautiful new high school and support our athletes.

After the community meetup, the Patriots fall athletic season gets into full swing with the first Powdersville Patriots football game.

The Patriots will play four football games at home this season, including the season opener against Travelers Rest Thursday, August 18.

The game kicks off at 6:45 p.m.

The remainder of the Patriots’ football games will be played on Thursdays this season.

On Thursday, August 25, the team travels to Iva to play Crescent High School. That game begins at 6 p.m.

The Patriots will then face Chesnee High School on September 1. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The team then returns home to play Christ Church on September 8. The game begins at 6 p.m.

The Palmetto High Mustangs travel to Powdersville High to face the Patriots September 15. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

The following week, the Patriots travel to West Side High School to face the Rams on September 22. The game begins at 5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 29, the Patriots travel to Greenwood High, where they’ll face the Eagles.

The teams The Patriots stay on the road, traveling to T.L. Hanna High School, where they’ll face the Yellow Jackets. The game begins at 5:30 p.m.

The team’s last away game of the regular season is against Laurens High School on October 20. It begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Patriots return home for their final game of the regular season on October 27, when they’ll face the Woodmont High Wildcats.

The game kicks off at 6 p.m.
