POWDERSVILLE — Fans of the community’s newest teams have a chance Tuesday to meet the players they’ll be following all season.

“Meet the Patriots” is the Powdersville High School Booster Club’s first fundraising event.

It will be held 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 at the Powdersville High School stadium, according to Booster Club officials.

Barbecue or hot dog plates with chips and a drink will be available for $5, beginning at 5 p.m. at the stadium. Inflatable attractions, a dunking booth, face painting, popcorn and cotton candy will be available to help support Powdersville High’s teams.

The highlist of the “Meet the Patriots” event is sure to be the introduction of the school’s fall athletes and coaches, which is slated to begin at 7:15 p.m.

For those wishing to begin their collection, Patriots merchandise will be available. Lucky young children may be able to get their favorite player’s autograph.

Everyone is invited to attend this event and help support these players.

The timing of “Meet the Patriots” is perfect as the school will host its first home football game just two days later.

According to Superintendent Dr. Wayne Fowler, the Patriots will host Christ Church at Powdersville High Sept. 8 at 6 p.m.

The school’s stadium and field house is set to be inspected by the Office of School Facilities on September 7, Fowler said.

Can’t make it to the game? No problem — WRIX will be broadcasting the game, Fowler said.

Fowler encouraged the board to attend the Patriots’ first home game.

“It’s sort of a great occasion,” he said.
