ANDERSON COUNTY – The Anderson County Council will be holding hearings to receive input from the public regarding changes to the County Council districts to reflect the population and demographic information compiled and released as part of the 2010 Decennial Census.
County staff hosted an information session Monday on the redistricting proposal for members of the public.
The Anderson County Council will hold public hearings to receive public comments on the 2011 County Council Redistricting Proposal and adoption of the redistricting plan. The public hearings will be held during the course of Council’s regularly scheduled meetings on October 4th and October 18th, 2011. These meetings will begin at 6:00 PM and be held in the County Council chambers, Historic Courthouse, 101 S. Main Street, Anderson.
Maps of the existing district lines and the 2011 County Council Redistricting
Proposal will be available for viewing at the public hearings. Prior to the hearings the
maps may be viewed at the following locations:
Anderson County Historic Courthouse
Belton City Hall
Williamston Library
Anderson Main Library
Pendleton Library
Honea Path Library
Iva Library
Powdersville Library
The maps are available for viewing at these locations beginning on Tuesday, September 13th, 2011. The maps also may be viewed online at http://www.andersoncountysc.org.
