POWDERSVILLE — Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Powdersville held a Ground Breaking Ceremony for its new church building on Feb. 1.

The new church building will be located on S.C. 81 in Powdersville next to the entrance of the Jameson Place subdivision.

The Building Committee was given the honor of turning over the first pieces of ground. Other members of the congregation, along with Dr. Broadus Moody and Keith Mincey of the Piedmont Baptist Association, were then given the opportunity to do so as well. The Jameson Place Club Board of Directors was also present at the special ceremony. Grading work should begin soon. The church hopes to have the building completed by the end of the year.

Mount Moriah Baptist Church is currently located at 620 Powdersville Main in Powdersville behind the Powdersville Family Practice.

Anyone who does not currently have a church home is welcome to join us in worship. Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. and the morning worship begins at 10 a.m.

For more information, contact Pastor Johnny Touchet at 269-7244 or visit the church’s Web site at www.mountmoriahbaptist.com.
