POWDERSVILLE—The Wren Hurricanes are just one step away from reaching the Upstate finals after winning the first two games of the AAA District Playoffs.

Wren opened the playoffs by defeating Dorman 1-0 Thursday.

Saturday, Wren faced Nation Ford, a 3-2 winner over Spring Valley in Thursday’s action. The Hurricanes defeated Nation Ford 7-1.

Wren now awaits its next opponent in the winners’ bracket. Spring Valley thumped Dorman 10-0 Saturday, eliminating the Cavaliers.

Monday Spring Valley will travel to Nation Ford. The loser of that game will be eliminated. The winner will play at Wren Wednesday.

Whomever the challenger is, the team will have to defeat Wren twice Wednesday in order to advance in the tournament. The Hurricanes only need one win to advance.
