The Hurricane Future Stars annual basketball camp has become a tradition for the Wren and Powdersville students. Above is a group of last year’s campers.
Six- to 12-year-olds can begin registering for the camps that will take place at Powdersville Middle School from June 8-12 and at Wren High School from July 6-9.
The cost to register is $60 a camper, and the deadline is June 4 for the Powdersville Middle camp and June 25 for the Wren High camp.
The cost is $70 for those who register after the deadline. The fee includes t-shirts and basketballs for all campers.
Wren High varsity players and coaches and even some local college players and coaches will be instructing the rising first through seventh graders.
Basketball coaches Fran Campbell and Lynn Hicks have been running the camp for more than 20 years.
Campbell said that most of the high school varsity players have graduated from the Hurricanes Future Stars basketball camps.
The annual post/perimeter camp will be June 29-July 2 from 9 a.m.-noon each morning at Wren High School. The cost to attend is $60 if campers are registered by June 25. Otherwise, the cost is $70.
