Wren High varsity softball team beats Easley 16-7, improves to 3-7

Heading into its game against Belton-Hone Path tonight, Wren High School’s varsity softball team is 3-7 and 2-2 in region 1AAAA.

The Lady ’Canes lost to Laurens 5-1 on Tuesday and to perennial AAAA power Hillcrest 4-1 on Thursday.

But they returned to their winning ways on Friday, winning 16-7 over region rival Easley. During the win, Hannah Ingram went 4-5 with 3 singles, a home run, 4 runs scored and 3 runs batted in. Reagan Davis was 2-3 with a double and 2 runs batted in.

Chelsea Hawkins was 3-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI’s. Morgan Tolbert also added a double and 2 RBI’s.

Taylor Williams picked up the win on the mound.

The team plays at BHP Monday at 6 p.m., followed by region games at Hanna on Wednesday and Westside at home on Thursday.

The team will also play in the Crescent invitational over the spring break period. The team is in the bracket with Crescent, Seneca and Chapman.
