SENECA — United way of Pickens County is partnering with WorkLink, the City of Seneca, Clemson Area Transit, Department of Social Services, and Tri-County Technical College to host the Tri-County Community Job Fair on Tuesday, April 20 at the Shaver Complex in Seneca.

The job fair will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is open to the public.

This is the first year United Way of Pickens County has assisted with the Tri-County job fair.

Last year's fair brought together more than 1800 job seekers and 58 organizations, including manufacturers, healthcare and service industry representatives, area colleges, and staffing agencies, and the United Way is hopeful that this year's event will reach out to even more businesses and job seekers, particularly unemployed workers in Pickens County. According to reports from the South Carolina Employment Security Commission, Pickens had an unemployment rate of 11.7 percent in January 2010.

Job seekers should come prepared to the Shaver Complex with resumes to give to recruiters and dressed in appropriate attire. Clemson Area Transit will provide a shuttle from Seneca and the OneStop Workforce Centers in each county are currently offering workshops on these topics—as well as many other career resources—to help job seekers obtain or train for a career.
