During the drive, the Post will reduce its regular subscription price from $22 to $18.70 and donate 5 percent of the proceeds to UCS.
UCS is a Piedmont-based non-profit that offers a variety of sports activities for children and young adults with physical, mental or developmental disabilities.
The sports include baseball, basketball, soccer, dance, and golf.
UCS started as the Challenger League baseball program 11 years ago as a branch of the Wren Youth Association.
Since then, it has developed into its own non-profit and has expanded to include other sports.
Youth involved in UCS meet at Piedmont Presbyterian Church, but leaders hope to eventually build a recreational facility for the program.
